One sentence

Tape to Tape is a roguelite hockey game where you hire unique players, bribe the referees and take on rival teams that don't play by the rules, solo or in couch co-op.

Short paragraph

Tape to Tape is a roguelite hockey game by Excellent Rectangle, an independent studio from Quebec City. Players lead Angus McShaggy and his squad across a world of rival teams and strange characters on a journey to restore hockey to its former glory. Between games they hire unique players, manage their benchwarmers, discover synergies, choose new abilities, bribe the referees and visit the Blademaster for upgrades. Lose and the run is over, but persistent unlocks bring new players, abilities, Relics and Squads. On the ice, it's fast arcade hockey with big hits, one-timers and saucer passes, played solo, in couch co-op or with up to 4 local players.

Full description

Explore a gorgeous roguelite hockey world where every choice matters on your journey to restore hockey to its former glory. Hire unique players, manage your benchwarmers, discover synergies between them, choose new abilities, bribe the referees, visit the Blademaster for upgrades and a lot more.

Craft your team

Take control of Angus McShaggy and lead your squad across a world filled with rival teams, strange characters and increasingly ridiculous challenges.

Hit the Training Center to boost your attributes, visit the No. 1 Fan to unlock a new player talent, or stop by the Infirmary to sacrifice a player… for the good of the team.

But this isn't a regular hockey season. Lose and your run is over. Start again, take a different route, build a different team using your new unlocks and discover new combinations along the way.

Face teams that don't play by the rules

Your opponents aren't interested in playing ordinary hockey. Take on cheating referees, farting princesses and the most sinister opponents of all: the Golfers.

Face teams with their own players, abilities, strategies and occasionally absurd interpretations of the rules. Learn how they play, adapt your strategy and figure out how to counter their strengths before they end your run.

Master every squad

Each Squad introduces its own twist on the game and can completely change how you approach a run.

Build your roster by hiring Free Agents with the GM Squad, embrace the physical side of hockey with the Violence Squad, go back to old-school hockey physics with the Retro Squad, or forget the wrist shot entirely and blast away with the Slapshot Squad.

Deep and rewarding gameplay

Tape to Tape combines fast-paced arcade hockey with responsive controls, big hits, one-timers, saucer passes, desperate saves and plenty of opportunities to send your opponents flying.

Easy to pick up but with plenty to master, the game rewards good positioning, passing, timing and learning how to take advantage of your team's strengths.
