We collect very little, we never sell it, and we only email you if you subscribe to the mailing list.

This website and the Tape to Tape mailing list are run by Excellent Rectangle, an independent video game studio based in Quebec City, Canada. For any question about your personal information, or to exercise your rights, write to the person in charge of protecting personal information at Excellent Rectangle: [email protected].
When you subscribe, we keep:
We use your address only to send you news about Tape to Tape, like releases and updates. The other details are our proof that you asked to subscribe, which Canada’s anti-spam law requires. We don’t sell, rent or share your address with anyone for their own marketing. Our emails are sent through Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon Web Services), in the United States, which handles your address only to deliver them.
After you subscribe, we email you a link to confirm. If you don’t confirm within 30 days, we delete your address.
Every email has an unsubscribe link, or you can write to us. After you unsubscribe, we keep your address marked as unsubscribed, with the consent record, so that we respect your choice and can show what you had agreed to. Ask us and we’ll delete it completely.
The mailing list isn’t meant for children under 14. If you’re under 14, ask a parent or guardian.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics and Umami to count visits. Neither uses cookies or follows you to other websites. We only see totals: pages viewed, the site you came from, country, type of device and browser, and clicks on some buttons (for example Steam or the trailer).
The site sets one cookie, lang, only when you choose EN or FR at the top of the page. It remembers your language for one year. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
The trailer is a YouTube video (youtube-nocookie.com). It loads only when you click play; YouTube then receives information about your visit under Google’s privacy policy. Links to Steam, the PlayStation Store, Discord and our social media pages lead to sites with their own privacy policies.
The website and the mailing list are hosted by Cloudflare, in North America. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles technical information such as your IP address to deliver pages and block abuse. Our emails go through Amazon Web Services in the United States. Umami stores its statistics in the European Union. Your information may therefore be stored outside Québec, including in the United States and the European Union.
You can ask to see the personal information we have about you, correct it, have it deleted, or withdraw your consent at any time: write to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.
If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
